These people just don’t get it. Several readers of Michelle Malkin’s site are just plain clue-less. It amazes me how people who think they are experts in some arena — and are not —, can get so much coverage from respectable sources. [OK, granted the liberal media does the same thing, I suppose I should not be surprised by this] Lots of piling on at Michelle’s site, most of it wrong headed.
Their times have passed, and they are now anachronisms. Keeping them for “tradition” is just plain racist. Can you imagine if an all White University said that, what would happen? Race wars, race-baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and every liberal on the planet would attack. Not so with Black Universities. For some reason they are to be protected.
Many writers pen columns wistfully defending these racist organizations. They cite the tradition, the camaraderie, the unique learning environment; everything except the racist attitude that keeps them open. Nor do they talk about why someone would attend. Two reasons: racism, or weak academics. If you hate Whites and drum the victim line then go to a Black school. If you can’t cut it with people who don’t think like you then go to a Black school.
It’s just a shame to see a tradition fade. It’s also a disquieting echo of the decline of African Americans in the major leagues. Last season, 9% of players on major league rosters were African American, down from about 27% in 1975.
Seems ironic — disgustingly so — that the exact same reasons to NOT integrate schools is why they want to NOT integrate Black schools.
It’s called change, get over it. Seems that when certain elements of our society don’t get the change they want, suddenly change is bad.
Mr. Buckley’s winningly capricious personality, replete with ten-dollar words and a darting tongue writers loved to compare with an anteater’s, hosted one of television’s longest-running programs, “Firing Line,” and founded and shepherded the influential conservative magazine, “National Review.”
Another giant of the conservative movement is gone.
SAN DIEGO – A 24-year-old U.S. citizen suspected of smuggling two illegal immigrants was arrested at the San Ysidro port of entry Saturday, officials said.
The woman, a San Diego resident, was registered in the SENTRI frequent traveler program and was using one of the program’s exclusive travel lanes at the time of her arrest.
Well that program is certainly working well.
Agents said she presented U.S. passports for herself and her son around 10 p.m. An agent reached behind the driver’s seat and felt a person hidden in the Dodge Ram truck, officials said.
No doubt this guard will be fired for doing his job.
“He is a very senior captain nearing the end of a highly-distinguished career but he seems to have thrown it all away for a moment of madness,” an anonymous airline representative said.
This is what happens when you have people buttoned down all the time.
