Smell the Desperation in Hollywood

In a (IMO) desperate attempt to stem the flow of viewers to more watchable programs; the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Academy) has decide to expand the “Best Picture” category from 5 films to 10 films.
They won’t say it, but they desperately need to get more people to watch. The vast majority of films that are put up for “Best Picture” are unknown or hated by the mainstream. Hollywood is so out of touch with America it believes that we all need to be educated on what is or is not “good cinema.” I say THEY need to be educated.
Anyway, the Academy is going to use “weighted” voting for the “Best Picture” category. That is to stop the category from being a popularity contest. *lmao* OK. They don’t want to have a film get 10% + 1 vote and win. This would mean the “piss’n ‘n’ moanin’” would come from “inside the tent.” They don’t need anymore acrimony in Hollywood. The system will use 2d, 3d, 4th, and on votes until one film has 50% or more of the votes. Oh yea, this will work out just fine!
Now I understand the reasoning for the change in the vote, however it won’t help the ratings. Hollywood, just doesn’t get it. It’s the anti-American, left-wing rants of which we have grown weary. They are in every film, every acceptance speech, every LAT article. Enough already, you hate America, we get it. Now shut up.
