CNN has a report on the charter schools in Baltimore, and their battle with the Unions over pay and work hours. Now this is shocking enough as they never oppose their liberal friends at the Unions, and they surely don’t want to promote achievement. Why is this segment being aired?

KIPP Ujima School in Baltimore is a charter school that is having “great” success. It is also predominately Black. (It might be all Black) It’s not surprising that the liberal CNN highlights a Black school, but why this one?

It is achieving! How can that be. This is America, where everyone and everything are assailing the “Black Community” and buffeting them from success. OK I am hooked, reel me in!

Miss Mumby says:

“It comes down to the students. What they give you and what you give them back. That’s the motivation, not the pay.”

She seems to have the right attitude.

So the kids come first? Great! glad to hear it. Tell me more. The teachers have all agreed to make LESS money, and work on Saturdays. They are available to the students 24 hours a day. I am not sure I buy that bit, but it sounds good.

Could it be the Unionistas have seen the error of their ways? Could it be that the Black Community has figured out it’s their fault they are failing? Can we hope for this much progress?

Not so fast there, dear reader. The other shoe is prepping for it’s entry.

The other shoe

Yes, that’s correct. It’s an Obama campaign sign. Anyone else see that as a problem? I do. It does explain why CNN chose this school, beyond it being a “Black” success story.

I wonder if a White teacher with a McCain placard would still have her Union job after CNN “exposed” her? Not likely. It completely escaped me, they are Black; they don’t have to play by the rules. What was I thinking!

Another one? and it’s bigger! WTF? Am I the only one who thinks that “blackboard” (oh here come the emails calling me a Racist) message is inappropriate, also? Are these the messages young Black students should be hearing? I think not.

What is missing?

Is this an indoctrination camp for the (Black) kiddies? Did anyone see ANY White kids in this school, in the video? I did see what appeared to be a token White teacher, no doubt a liberal. You know they would have shown the White kid, “for balance.”

I didn’t see any McCain or GOP placards, either. Come to think of it, I didn’t see much in the way of “American” postings. I did see a lot of “African” posted material.

Once again we see the problem with the “Black Community,” they think they are better than we are and are a separate entity.

Some Truth

Now what about that “less money,” mantra? Well it seems the teachers at this school make 18% more than their counterparts. The Union feels they should be getting 33% percent more. The teachers don’t want that. Good for you!

This sounds like Government thinking. We gave up a 33% to get 18% that is a 45% pay cut. So much for the “do-gooder” teachers at this school.

Unions are not “as you like it” institutions. They don’t go away, just because you want them to. This is the problem with Unions, inflexible and controlling over that which they have no claim. The contract is pretty clear. What annoys me about this is the the Union Rep, no doubt an Obamanation member says:

“… all we are asking is they are treated fairly.”

It’s always about “fairness.” Bull****!! It’s about Money, and control. Unions want to control us, and want us to pay them outrageous wages to do it. Essentially we are seen as chattel to the Unions.

It’s misleading, and an outright lie to say the teachers are making less money. Holding them out as heroes, when they are doing their job, as it should be done is disgusting. It’s typical of the liberal media.

Anyone know if the White schools’ teachers are paid less?

Time to Fail

The school has had to layoff 5 teachers and stop Saturday classes, and field trips. What! Didn’t we just hear how all of this was why the school was succeeding? It’s exactly the problem with Unions, and Government control in general. They destroy success.
