California is Evil »

Oprah moving to California

Nov 20th, 2009 by Mark

Oprah has decided to bail on Chicago, and move to Los Angeles.

Is it too late to talk her out of this? I for one would be happy if she did not come here. We have enough whiney fools here.

It’s cold and I have a Mansion in the sun

One of her whines is that she has a “mansion” in Montecito and can not enjoy it. The unspoken reason is that she is in Chicago and restricted by Geography from using it. The truth is that is that she wants to avoid California taxation. Because she routinely does business with companies and persons — most notably celebs — from California; she has to keep her time in State to 6 weeks or less. If she doesn’t, then her income becomes taxable to California. Yes, Cali is evil.

She also complained that Chicago is “cold.” Really? You just now figured this out after living in the Midwest for almost 30 years? Or maybe it’s that your ratings are failing and you want to bail on your show? I will give her one thing, she is getting out without having to humiliate herself … wait … never mind, scratch that last thought.

Screw the little people, I’m Oprah

Chicago Mayor Daley blames the media. *ROTFLMAO* You see Chicagoans were all upset that she shut down “Miracle Mile” for a week so she could tape her show.

The mayor says it was the flap over the show’s season opener on Michigan Avenue in September that may have helped set Oprah’s travel plans in stone. There was criticism about shutting down the Magnificent Mile for days for the taping. She reimbursed the city for costs related to the closure.

No reimbursement for the “little people” who were inconvenienced.

Pressed about whether the media really caused Oprah to flee, Daley added: “I’m just saying that when someone’s doing something like that, most cities would love it. … It’s just amazing. I don’t know why it became so controversial.”

Daley seems to not understand that inconveniencing taxpayers and voters is a bad thing.

Daley said Thursday evening he’s going to call Oprah to get the real story. But he’s obviously concerned that if she says farewell to this city it’ll be a blow to Chicago’s image.

Really? The home of Al Capone? The home of corrupt Union run politics? The nexus of the Obama’s take over of the Country. Home to ex-Gov Blagojevich? Really? Hurt your rep? Hey Daley, wasn’t your dad a criminal? I think yes.

Isn’t it about ratings?

She did lower herself to talk with Sarah Palin — whose book is a bestseller before it was published AND without Oprah’s help — this week on her show. A show which brought her the highest ratings in 2 years — since the entire Osmond family was on (I can not find the Osmond numbers, so I don’t know if they are higher) –, even topping Whitney Houston’s appearance.

The interview with Palin brought a 36% increase in ratings to Oprah. It seems clear who the most powerful woman in America is. It’s also interesting that those who know the Osmond numbers are not giving an exact figure. Well they are liberals after all.

Oh and Barack Obama was on also last year. Hmm. Oprah’s ratings have been plummeting since she started openly backing Barack Obama in the 2008 election.

Whine about taxes and then support a big taxer

I find it disgusting that someone who clearly is gaming the system to avoid taxes would back someone — Barack Hussein Soetoro Obama — who wants to raise taxes and create more burdens on productive people. I am not shocked by this, it’s just another example of the hypocrisy of liberals.
