USDA kills animal ID plan — Billings Gazette
This is more proof that Government can’t handle managing our economy, much less Healthcare. They can’t even handle managing a small, but vital part of our economy on NON-voters. After spending $143 Million over several years, they have given up o managing the livestock food chain in the U.S.
Yes these are the people I want running our Health Care System. That is sarcasm, in case you missed it.
The program was supposed to track every animal from birth to death and then to the table. If you moved your livestock to a new field you had to log it, along with who was in the field with them. Sell an animal, log it; then the new owner has to log all of the animal’s movement and associations.
Why did they give up
Did they give up because it was unworkable, or because they want to push of the responsibility to others while claiming they are “in touch” with the people?
Vilsack said he will turn to state and tribal veterinarians for a uniform way to track animals shipped across the country. Tracking animals moving intrastate will be left up to each state government
Sounds like they are just passing the buck to me.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for local responsibility. However this Administration wants to manage our lives from Birth to Death, and they have failed at managing a much smaller population of cattle. Why don’t they use this model for Health Care? Simple, they lose control of us.
The only good thing that comes out of this is that we now know the Government can’t manage any part of the Economy in any meaningful way. Then again; Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, “Cash for Clunkers,” and Welfare should have shown us that before. Sadly, the Marxist/Socialist/Communist/Progressives will keep trying.
Wake up People, stop buying the “Government will help you” B.S.
