Again, thanks for you patience.

Bush Screws Us Again

Word is that the National Guard is going to be removed partially from the border. Great. He just has to keep helping Mexico screw us. So sick of Bush’s empty promises on the border. Nothing but window dressing to date.

The number of National Guard troops along the Arizona-Mexico border will be trimmed in half by the end of next month.
As the presidentially mandated Operation Jumpstart mission begins its second year in support of the U.S. Border Patrol, the number of troops is being reduced as planned. It will be trimmed from 6,000 to 3,000 nationally and from 2,400 to 1,200 in Arizona, said National Guard Capt. Kristine Munn. The pullout began July 1 and is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 1.

What a crock. No doubt this is to appease the racists of La Raza, and Mel Martinez.

Bush Does Something Right!

Wow! It only took 6 years, but he did something right. Bush commutes sentence of Scooter Libby. Good Job. However just like the Border, it’s not far enough. Just a half measure, that will appease no one, and piss off everybody. This seems to be Dubya’s mantra these days.

The last thing he did right was to go to war against the Islamic haters. Be nice if he finished that, too.

This is clearly a way to get Libby off, without getting too much criticism. Like all ‘fence straddling’ someone always gets it in the end.

UPDATE

Bush is getting hammered by the lefty nutcases he was trying to dodge. This guy never learns. Oh and don’t for get that their man Bill Clinton gave clemency to terrorists, and they said nothing about it. Nancy Pelosi did not criticize Slick Willy, but now is all over Bush. Gee what a shock. Typical liberals.

More problems for the wannabe-business software company.

Newly released (like last week) Safari is having issues. This time a really stupid security risk. I would love to blame this on Microsoft and Windows, however that is clearly not the case.

To recap, last week we had the “ping of death” issue (truly stupid)

Polish hacker Michal Zalewski was taken aback by the vulnerability’s duh factor. Responding to Swiecki’s bug report, he said: “… all other recently reported problems aside, seeing this, I can only ask—which rock did Safari developers hide under for the past 8 years or so? I mean … this is the type of a flaw you probably no longer even to test for because it seems too obvious—’ping -l 65510′ of the browser world…” (The ping Zalewski refers to is aka the “ping o’ death,” a means to easily crash, reboot or otherwise tamper with a large number of systems by sending a ping of a certain size from a remote machine. It has been well-known since at least 1997.)

That was found a day after release of the new and improved Safari, on the 14th of June.

The usual Apple sycophants are all agog that anyone dares to criticize their ‘boy’ Safari. Get over it. We demand more than pretty packaging on this side of the computer compound.

My New Camera

Nikon-d40-dslr
Nikon D40 digital SLR

Nikon has a site up so you can see what type of pics the camera will take. All taken by Amateurs with little photography experience.

Lab-looking
Come to picturetown and see me and my friends!

Picture Town – I suggest that you max your browser for this site. It does require flash. It’s worth it. I don’t like Flash, but in this case I can deal with it. Oh and you can win a free D40 while you look at the awesome pics. The contest has ended, sadly.

The site is the collection of photographs from 200 people in Georgetown South Carolina. They gave them D40s and ask for pics in return.

Make sure you view all of the “brick walls” in the gallery. Many of the photographers were not profiled, but have pics up on the site. For amateurs they did an awesome job.

The Captain (environmentalist will like this guy) has some great shots of the Ocean and Dolphins. If you like landscapes Betty Robinson has some you will love. Jessie Wilson Jr. (former principal) has some nice pics of his gasman (you have to see it), and his Jazz partner. Sara Player has pics of the kids for the Grandparents. Elizabeth and Beatrice share their friendship in pictures. Kira Roff shows you South Carolina’s natural beauty.

By the end of June I will have my new site up and running about my new camera, and what I am doing with it.
