“Federal prosecutors on Friday filed their first charges in an ongoing investigation into the Los Angeles County jails, saying that an ex-deputy accused of smuggling a cellphone into a lockup in exchange for a bribe is now cooperating with investigators.
The former deputy, Gilbert Michel, agreed to plead guilty to one federal count of bribery in exchange for his cooperation, an official said.”
LA Sheriff’s Dept is Corrupt
It’s about damn time. The LA County Jail system has been a vile corrupt institution for decades. The Sheriff’s Dept. needs to be cleaned out, as well.
LA Jail Deputies are accused of using force on the mentally ill, which makes sense. The LA County Idiots err Supervisors, of course, are running their touchy-feely nonsense. They are acting as if this is somehow abusive. Which, of course, is part of the problem with the jail AND the county. They are catching heat from professional whiners because a Deputy resigned for the Sheriff’s Dept because he was “forced to beat” the mentally ill.

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy, who washed out of the hit reality TV series “The Academy,” has been indicted in a 2010 jail drug smuggling case after he allegedly tried to sneak a burrito with a syringe containing heroin into the county lockup.
Yea, he couldn’t make it on a reality show. That says it all.
The smuggling case is one of several reported inside the county jail system in recent years, officials said. Three sheriff’s deputies were convicted and a fourth was fired for smuggling or attempting to smuggle drugs to inmates, officials said.
Like I said, the Sheriff’s Dept is corrupt.

One of the Deputies that arrested Mel Gibson is suing for “Hostile workplace” violations. Even the Judge mocked him.
“People are offended all the time in the workplace.”

But There’s Less Crime!
Duh! People are fleeing the state in droves, and the Illegal Aliens are leaving and not coming back. That has NOTHING to do with Law Enforcement of any type.
